The early morning hours of at 00.15 a.m. on Sunday August 29, 2010 brought forth a frightening situations that villagers of the area around Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra, Indonesia, did not see coming.  A volcano that has been inactive for the last 400 years has erupred causing about 10,000 to flee their homes. These people are for the most part staying in government buildings, places of worship and other evacuation centres in towns close by.

Patterns of this volcano are for the most part undocumented and therefore unknown.  Ash and sand were sent 1.5 km high.
